RETURNS & refunds

Please read the following carefully to ensure you are fully aware of your rights under this policy and Bee Prepared’s (collectively “Bee Prepared”, “we”, “us” and “our”) obligations to you, the person accessing and/or using our Sites (“you”).


Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Our Returns and Refunds Policy (the “Policy”) is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (“ACL”).


Major Failure Returns


As mentioned above, under the ACL you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure. A major failure occurs when no reasonable consumer would have made the purchase if they had known about the problem, and the good is:

  • significantly different from the description, sample or demonstration model shown to the consumer;

  • substantially unfit for its normal purpose and cannot be easily made fit in a reasonable time;

  • substantially unfit for the purpose that the consumer made known to the supplier, and it cannot be made fit easily and within a reasonable time; or

  • unsafe.


Some of the products Bee Prepared sells are products in nature (“natural products”) which are specifically unique to themselves (for example, tree logs, where each log is different and unique). Photographs of these natural products on our Sites may not match exactly the product you purchase and receive, but are a close representation of the natural product you have purchased. If you request it from us, we may send you photographs of the actual natural product you are considering purchasing. Differences between photographs of natural products on our Sites and the natural product you have purchased and taken receipt of are not considered a Major Failure. Please consider this before making a purchase of natural products. Also, we urge that you read the Product Description carefully, as it may contain product dimensions and other factors that may influence your decision to purchase.


Some of our products also include an established colony of Australian Native Stingless Bees (“Bees”, “Bee Colony”). Bees are native wildlife, as opposed to a manufactured product. For this reason, we can not guarantee the Bees’ continued habitation of the Bee Colony, health or safety. When selling and delivering these products, we do so with the utmost care to ensure the health and safety of the Bees on your receipt. We will also provide you with Care Instructions to assist you with caring for the Bees following your receipt. If the failure of an established Bee Colony is as a direct result of Bee Prepared (for example, an accident during delivery), we will consider this a Major Failure and will gladly replace the product or offer a refund, as is our obligation under the ACL. However, the failure of an established Bee Colony following your receipt is not considered a Major Failure. We ask that you inspect any products containing established Bee Colonies carefully before accepting receipt of the product.


Change of Mind Returns

Unfortunately, Bee Prepared does not offer any returns or refunds, due to you changing your mind (“Change of Mind Returns”) about your purchase, following payment. You should read the product descriptions and consider your decision to purchase carefully, before making payment.

Guarantees & Warranties


Some of our products come with a Standard Replacement Warranty, which is in addition to your rights under the ACL and guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. Other Returns


If you have any other reasonable justification for your request to replace, repair or refund the purchase of a product, we will consider them on a case-by-case basis. Some types of compensation we may offer, include:

  • Exchange Vouchers to exchange the product with another of an equivalent or lesser value or purchase price;

  • partial or full refund of the purchase price of the product;

  • discount Coupon or Promotional Code (“Promo Code”) to discount the purchase price of your next purchase; or

  • repair of the product.


Requesting a Refund, Repair or Other Return


To request a replacement, refund, repair or other return:

  1. Submit a Return or Refund request to, including details of any faults, failures, or cause as well as evidence of purchase (e.g. Tax Invoice, Receipt etc.) to enable Bee Prepared to assess your claim. Bee Prepared must approve your claim before any replacement, refund, repair or other compensation will be offered.

  2. Provide or make the product available to Bee Prepared, once your claim is approved. Any replacements, refunds, repairs or other compensation will not be issued until the faulty product is returned to Bee Prepared’s registered address.
